Manuscript Type

MANUSCRIPT TYPE

CITIZEN: Indonesian Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal accepts the following types of manuscripts for publication:
Research articles
Original empirical or theoretical investigations must state a clear question, explain the methods or reasoning, present evidence and limitations, and identify their contribution to the journal’s multidisciplinary scope. Quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method designs are eligible. Research involving people, animals or sensitive data must provide appropriate ethical approval, exemption or other applicable justification, and consent where required.

Review and conceptual articles
Systematic reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analyses and bibliometric studies must describe reproducible search, selection and analysis procedures. Narrative reviews must explain their scope and selection rationale. Conceptual articles must develop an explicit argument, framework or proposition grounded in relevant scholarship. A descriptive compilation without critical analysis is insufficient.

Case studies and methodological papers
Case studies must explain case selection, evidence sources, analytical procedures, confidentiality and the limits of transferability. Methodological or technical papers must describe the method, tool or system and provide an appropriate validation, comparison or worked application. Routine activity reports and promotional descriptions do not qualify as research articles.

Editorial and post-publication content
Editorials present editorial perspectives and are identified as such. Letters, scholarly commentaries and author replies address a published article or a focused scholarly issue with evidence and respectful reasoning. Corrections, expressions of concern and retraction notices are editorial records. They are not presented as original peer-reviewed research.

Assessment and submission
Research, review, conceptual, case-study and methodological submissions undergo editorial screening and external peer review. Editorials and publication notices undergo editorial assessment; letters and replies may receive external review where technical content requires it. Special-issue research follows the same relevant standards as regular research. Invited or conference-originated content is not automatically accepted. Select the closest available OJS section and state the proposed type in the cover letter if a dedicated section is unavailable. The separate peer-review policy specifies masking, reviewer selection and decision procedures. Consult the author guidelines and template for language, length and formatting.
